I entered the kitchen and bathroom design and installation business in mid 2007 starting at Just Kitchens on Kings Road in Chelsea. This was a well known brand in London starting off the Wigmore Street trend of kitchen showrooms before reducing to just one showroom, that baton being taken up by the founders son, Paul Hallatt. The location meant we had a lot of clients passing by, which led to me designing and installing a substantial number of Rational German bespoke kitchens for them during the two different times I worked at Just Kitchens.
Following this injection into the home interior refurbishment sales role, I decided to learn how to fit kitchens. I was already good at making and crafting from an early age, as well as having completed a Product Design BSc at Derby University and prior, half a 3D Crafts BA at Brighton University. This pattern of designing and then fitting repeated until I started working for Onestà as the installation manager. I had gained a great deal of technical experience up to that point and knew the particulars of what made a successful installation through constantly improving and being proactive, not only as the designer, but also as the fitter.
I bring that dual perspective to any project, being able to problem solve situations that crop up whilst interacting at all site meetings knowing full well that I have a vast technical well of experience about all the aspects of the KBB world and what it takes to complete the projects.
Being part of a fast-paced and collaborative team truly energizes me. I thrive in that kind of environment and I'm always eager to learn new techniques and expand my skills quickly.
During my international travels to Germany, Italy, and the UK, I had the amazing opportunity to network and discover high-end manufacturers like Rational, Zeyko, Alno, BV Italia (Record è Cucine), L’Ottocento, TM Italia, Composit, Dalbergia, West & Reid. Building connections with KBB representatives has been invaluable.
I'm also a committed member of South London Makerspace, where I actively contribute to improving overall Health and Safety standards for the wood workshop and other facilities.
Right now, I'm enrolled in the NEBOSH General Certificate for Occupational Health and Safety. It's a true testament to my dedication to ensuring a safe working environment for everyone.
